Just a few more…

It’s half-term this week so I feel like I’m rushing even more than usual!

I missed posting this Maltings WIP last week by vivieknits - such a wonderful WARM view when today is so chilly!

It was wonderful looking at so many photos of Maltings last week that I almost forgot about the other KAL that has been happening with Inspiration Knits designs – the Knit Play Hearts KAL in our Ravelry group featuring the Heart Deco cowl and Warm Hearted blanket patterns from Knit Play Colour.

I love the deep pink of scienceknitster's Heart Deco cowl

While there have been the expected reds and pinks, I’ve enjoyed seeing how some knitters chose to go off-piste and knit the hearts in a different colour:

In fact, I was inspired to knit a Heart Deco for myself and LOVE the deep purple of this yarn from Triskelion

Bravely carrying on knitting the Warm Hearted blanket is CupcakeMary who has chosen to stick with the MillaMia yarn and colour ‘latte’ used in the sample in the book:

If you’re wanting to join in a KAL we’re got another one planned for March/April, and this time I’m delighted that we’re partnering up with Purlescence for the Affinity shawl. Affinity is all about pairing two yarns together – colour or texture, or both?

The pattern shows off a semi-solid and a variegated yarn beautifully but is also equally gorgeous in a single colour but using beads and a yarn with more bloom like mohair or alpaca (as we did in the blue version).

Purlescence have tons of delicious yarns for you to chose from and you can see them all at Unravel happening this weekend. I’ll also be on their stand every day from 2-3pm if you’d like some help choosing your yarn. Then you’ll have plenty of time to wind up your yarn and get swatching before the KAL kicks off on March 1st!
