Shalimar have created five different stripe combinations to work with the pattern, all of them equally gorgeous. Not bought the Another Way pattern yet? They’re throwing it in for free with the kit!
The yarn is their luxurious Homage, 80% superwash merino, 10% cashmere, 10% silk. It’s a fingering weight yarn with 400yds/365m per 100g.
In each kit you’ll find 1 skein of 100g for the main shade, and 4 smaller 50g skeins of the contrast colours. Shalimar have specially wound the 50g skeins to help make striped projects possible. They’re having fun with a “Summer is for Stripes” theme just now, and I’m excited to be part of it. I love designing stripes and the 50g skeins make it so much easier!
The kits are available to order from Friday 31st May 9am EST via their Etsy shop, priced $70, which is a great discount on the regular price of $83. With purchases of the kit, you’ll get a coupon code to download the Another Way pattern for free, worth $4.50.
The kits are what Shalimar term “Ready, Set, Ship!”, which means that kits ship within 36hrs. I like that kind of speedy service – it shows an appreciation that when we want to cast-on, we want to cast-on right now! Shipping is $1 domestic/$10 international for the first skein, 50c for each additional skein. So, although their yarns aren’t generally available outside the US, we can still get our hands on it – luckily.
Venice beach (top) is very close to the original colour concept, with a Shalimar Yarns twist. My personal favourite is Cannon Beach (second from top) – that denim grey with the terracotta and gold I just adore. I know my blond haired, blue eyed friend will be falling over herself for Rehobeth Beach (above), and it would look amazing on her.
For drama in classic colours, Sunset Beach (above) is perfect. For a really bright, sizzling option, Vero Beach (below) is a cracker. I can feel the sunshine already.
So, tell me what you think. Love the colours? Which combination is your favourite – or do you just want them all!?
