Finally in our dyer collaboration series, there was someone who made a yarn dyeing debut with us at Unravel. Mel, aka YogicKnitter showcased her dyeing talents for the first time! The yarns were a huge hit, selling out all but one skein. Not bad for a rookie, eh? So, to round up the Unravel dyer collaborations, here’s Mel to tell us all about what makes her tick in the crafty world.

This NEW scarf is all about showcasing beautiful hand-dyed yarn. I couldn’t choose only one texture to use because I wanted to celebrate the lovely variety of looks these yarns create: smooth knits, blurry purls, textured garter and strands of colour.

Special skeins: Whimzy Silkie Merino

There was something just a little extra special about taking Whimzy yarn to Unravel because we were responsible for a debut! It was Whimzy’s first outing in the wild and the first time their Silkie Merino had been featured at a knitting show. Whimzy’s yarns were extremely popular, selling out in a lot of the colours we’d picked.

Since we’ve just shared the Sokkusu O colours we picked for our trunk show, we wanted to tell you more about Ling and her Whimzy yarns.

I just picked up an order of beautiful Sokkusu O from Ling for our Trunk Show at The Knitting Hut on the 27th.

I love this yarn for stripes! The yarn is springy in feel, and there are some great Spring colours here.

I just had to make up some fresh colour pairings for Stay Awhile, ready to share with everyone on the day.

As promised, here is the next featured indie dyer to share with you after the success of our collaboration at Unravel. This time, it’s the turn of Jeni from Fyberspates whose yarn might have found its way home with a few of us working the booth…..

Fyberspates is an independent yarn company specialising in luxury yarns. Jeni has developed 2 distinct yarn ranges: individually hand dyed and wholesale lines such as Vivacious and Scrumptious. I can’t believe it has already been a month since Unravel! Where does the time go?

As promised, here is the first of a series of interviews featuring the talented dyers who joined forces with Inspiration Knits to make our booth so successful. Each dyer brings something unique and special to their yarns; sharing that with you all seemed essential after they enjoyed so much popularity at Unravel!

Asti with her yarns, inspired by her beautiful surroundings

First, Asti of Juno Fibre Arts. Asti dyes her yarns from her farm setting in rural Devon. Her Blog and Instagram feed give you an amazing insight into the farm renovations she’s up to in between dyeing and running a family home. All in all, the yarn Asti produces feels like it has a story as a result as there is something very British about the yarn bases she chooses and her colour palette. Here’s her story…..
